Sentinelle adalah film aksi thriller produksi Perancis garapan Julien Leclercq. Film yang didistibusi Netflix ini dibintangi oleh si cewek “Bond” Olga Kurylenko dan Marilyn Lima. Film bertema sejenis sudah membludak di pasaran sejak era silam, apa lagi kini yang ingin ditawarkan Sentinelle?

Klara adalah seorang prajurit yang tergabung dalam operasi Sentinelle yakni pasukan anti teroris Perancis yang dibentuk sejak tragedi pemboman tahun 2015. Pasukan ini tugasnya secara rutin berpatroli di seluruh penjuru kota. Klara yang masih trauma kejadian saat bertugas beberapa tahun lalu, memengaruhi kondisi mentalnya saat bertugas. Suatu ketika, sang adik dianiaya oleh putra seorang diplomat yang tak bisa tersentuh oleh jalur hukum. Klara lantas menggunakan caranya sendiri untuk membalaskan dendam adiknya.

Kita sudah ratusan kali melihat plot “Death Wish” macam ini dan apa yang disajikan dalam film ini semuanya serba NOL BESAR. Sungguh mengherankan dari sekian banyak film sejenis yang terbilang baik, pembuat film tak mampu menghadirkan kisah yang setidaknya menghibur. Klara adalah sosok yang mentalnya rapuh sehingga ia terlihat tak banyak bicara, selalu gelisah dan kurang rasa percaya diri. Sosok ini rasanya kurang pas diperankan Olga yang memang karakternya rada mirip dengan peran yang ia mainkan dalam film BondQuantum of Solace”. Hanya dalam Bond, Olga tampak lebih percaya diri dan dingin. Kasting yang tak pas ini otomatis memengaruhi seluruh aspek kisahnya yang juga absurd, jauh dari nalar. Amat mengherankan, jelas-jelas Klara terganggu mentalnya dan banyak melakukan aksi di luar prosedur, mengapa atasannya masih saja membiarkannya bertugas? Kita seperti dibodohi.

Dari berpuluh plot balas dendam sejenis, Sentinelle tak mampu menawarkan suatu apa pun yang bisa dibilang berhasil. Plotnya amburadul dengan ratusan lubang plot yang tak bisa dimaklumi dan alurnya terlalu mudah diantisipasi. Aksinya juga sama sekali tak mampu membuat kita masuk dalam ketegangan yang diharapkan karena terlalu banyak momen yang membuang waktu. Sentinelle adalah salah satu contoh film terburuk subgenrenya di mana para pembuat film maupun para pemainnya sendiri terlihat sudah tidak menikmati perannya. Bahkan membuat judul filmnya saja, sudah lepas konteks dengan plotnya.
