Banyak kejutan di ajang British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) 2019 yang berlangsung semalam. Di luar dugaan, Roma dan The Favourite mendominasi perolehan piala. The Favourite meraih 7 piala untuk Film Film Inggris Terbaik, Aktris Utama dan Aktris Pendukung Terbaik, Naskah Asli, Penata Artistik, Kostum, serta Make-up Terbaik. Sementara Roma meraih 4 piala untuk penghargaan bergengsi, yakni Film Terbaik, Film Berbahasa Non-Inggris Terbaik, Sutradara, serta Sinematografi Terbaik. Star is Born yang meraih tujuh nominasi hanya membawa pulang piala untuk Musik Terbaik.
